Reactive Power Converter
The reactive power converter tool calculates the number of VAR, mVAR, kVAR, and MVAR units.
Reactive Power Converter
Reactive power is a form of electric power that does not flow through the wires and is measured in volts-amperes reactive (VARs).
Reactive power is needed in order to maintain voltage stability on the power grid. It compensates for the inductive load of motors and transformers, which can cause voltage drops when they are switched off.
A VAR is a unit of measure for reactive power. It represents the amount of real and reactive energy that flows through a circuit every second. One VAR equals one volt ampere (VA) per second.
